Rosette-forming glioneuronal tumor (RGNT) of the fourth ventricle is a mixed glioneuronal tumor, recently included in the 2007 World Health Organization (WHO) classification of tumors of the central nervous system. Forty-eight cases have been reported up to now; most occurring in the fourth ventricle. But recent cases have reported other locations also. These two cases were histopathologically diagnosed ; one is a 58-year-old male with RGNT involving cerebellum and the other is an 11-year-old female with RGNT in the temporal and thalamic location. These cases differ in radiologic and clinical features. However, they share the classic RGNT histology, characterized by biphasic neurocytic and glial architecture. We report two cases of RGNTs involving the extra fourth ventricular locations and discuss the distinctive features of this entity.
